Endeavour Drinks returns as Australian Drinks Awards sponsor

The Drinks Association welcomes Endeavour Drinks as the returning sponsor of its Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the 2019 Australian Drinks Awards.

The Corporate Social Responsibility Award was introduced last year to acknowledge the work drinks companies are doing to promote positive social and environmental change.

CEO Georgia Lennon said: “This is a growing industry full of conscientious companies The CSR award highlights the achievements of those companies who are doing great things in this respect. We are thrilled to have the continued support of Endeavour Drinks as we celebrate these achievements.”

Adam Fry, General Manager - Buying and Merchandising at Endeavour Drinks added: "At Endeavour Drinks, our ambition is to connect everyone with a drinks experience they’ll love. This means taking great pride in getting to know our customers, and anticipating their passion, tastes and preferences.

"We know that our customers are growing increasingly conscious of the choices they make everyday, from what they drink and how much they consume, to the impact that their decisions have on the world around them. What’s important to our customers is important to us.

"This award category recognises the unique ways that our industry can make a positive impact in the lives of our customers and we are proud to support the really unique initiatives and strategies in this category that demonstrate a commitment to corporate social responsibility principles."

Last year, Pernod Ricard Winemakers took out the inaugural Corporate Social Responsibility Award for its Responsib’All Day initiative, which was created to find ways to get all employees, from directors to line workers, personally engaged in day-to-day corporate sustainability efforts, integrating sustainability into everyone’s job.

Fry said Endeavour Drinks felt a particular affinity with the award, as the commitment to corporate social responsibility is intrinsically tied to Endeavour's values of "Caring Deeply" and "Always Doing the Right Thing", through initiatives that include:

• Its deep commitment to Responsible Service of Alcohol.

• A commitment to achieving gender diversity especially in leadership roles.

• Endeavour's proud partnership with the Jawun program for the past six years and the recently renewal of its commitment to working with Jawun for another six years.

• Its strong commitment to managing waste, having achieved 99% zero waste to landfill in 2019 at its wine production site in South Australia.

• Its continuing efforts on managing its impact on climate change through effective energy consumption via investment in solar energy at some of its Dan Murphy’s stores.

The group also has new initiatives under way to look at sustainable sourcing and waste water management.

Fry said he was looking forward to celebrating with the drinks industry at the Australian Drinks Awards ceremony on on August 22.

"One of the best things about working in the drinks industry is that you play a part in creating an experience that at its heart is all about celebration," he noted. "It’s exciting to be part of our own celebration as peers and acknowledging the great achievements in our industry. I’m really looking forward to marking this occasion at the Awards."
