Have you registered for Go Step for Gynae 2018?
It's not too late to support Women in Drinks' charity partner ANZGOG during this important challenge. And today is the perfect time to make the move, as it's International Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day.
ANZGOG is the national peak organisation for gynaecological cancer clinical trials in Australia and New Zealand.
GO Step for Gynae is a campaign to get active and remind women and their loved ones to be informed about the many ‘down there’ cancers.
By registering, women are encouraged to get fit and raise much needed funds to help support research and clinical trials into gynaecological cancers.
"Virtually every advance in cancer survival has been made on the back of clinical trials," said Dr Alison Brand, Past Chair of Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG). "We call out to the public for much needed financial support to increase our research work. It is only through clinical research that improvements in prevention and care can happen, or even a cure."
The challenge is to take 10,000 steps a day starting any day in May. Included in the cost of your registration, you will be sent a pedometer to track your daily steps.

Earlier this year, Women in Drinks raised more than $22,000 for ANZGOG at its International Women's Day event. WID has a three-year target to raise $50,000 for its important work. It costs approximately $1500 to put one woman on a clinical cancer trial for a year.
"These cancers are among the most serious and yet they are not often spoken about publicly even among women and their friends," Dr Brand said. "We hope in the coming years to see a shift in support for our work."
