Lion has changed the colour of its logo and shared a video on LinkedIn to support Wear It Purple day.
Held on August 30, Wear it Purple strives to foster supportive, safe, empowering and inclusive environments for rainbow young people.
"Today we Wear It Purple in support of rainbow youth and LGBTIQA+ people as we believe that everyone has the right to be themselves and belong - at work and in our communities," Lion said.
"Lion was a supporter of Marriage Equality in Australia and last year received the NZ Rainbow Tick certification. We are also pleased to share that we are now a member of Pride in Diversity Australia, who will partner with us to help us continue our inclusion of LGBTI team members."
In the video, some of Lion's senior leadership discuss why they’re wearing purple today, including Stuart Irvine, Alicia Purtell, James Brindley (pictured main), Libby Davidson, Rory Glass, Kathy Karabatsas and Matt Tapper.
Meanwhile CUB, with the support of DraftLine Australia & ZXV the CUB LAGER Network (Lesbian and Gay Everyone Respected), has designed CUB branded purple pride t-shirts for its team to purchase and show support for the rainbow community.
All profits from sales of the special T-shirts will be donated to Wear it Purple, with CUB matching donations.
