The Drinks Industry Show has announced it will hold a spirit tasting forum as part of its line-up.
The forum will be held on Tuesday, June 27, in the Crystal Palace Ballroom at Luna Park Sydney.
Kicking off the proceedings will be "Australian gin & other craft spirits". Attendees will hear from ambassadors and distillers about why these spirits are unique and special. There will be a chance to taste the latest expressions from market leaders and new examples of gin and products of the craft distilling movement.
The line-up will include Four Pillars, Archie Rose, West Winds, Manly Spirits Gin, 666 Vodka and Monkey 47.
It will be followed by "Agave Spirits - From Ancestral to Industrial (And Everything In Between)".
Attendees will learn the latest information about mezcal and taste some exquisite agave spirits - including Del Maguey, Wahaka and Derrumbes - under the guidance of Global Mezcal Ambassador Phil Bayly, Agave Cartel Founder Reece Griffiths, Agave authority and Tio’s GM Alex Gilmour and Mezcal educator Jose Ponce.
Finally, there will be a "World Whisk(e)y Smackdown", with passionate representatives and tastings of amazing examples of the leading styles of whisk(e)y, from Scotland, Ireland, US, Canada, Japan and Australia. Attendees will vote for their favourite whisk(e)y at the conclusion.
