Taylors Wines wins Best Public Relations Campaign for Celsius

Taylors Wines has won Best Public Relations Campaign at the 2018 Wine Communicator Awards.

The winemaker nabbed the trophy for its world-first wine and temperature pop-up experience Celsius, which it hosted earlier this year.

Celsius is part of Taylors’ ongoing campaign to educate consumers about how the flavours and aromas of a wine can be transformed when served at the optimum drinking temperature. 

Miles Omodei, Chief Marketing Officer at Taylors Wines, said: “We’re thrilled that Taylors temperature campaign was awarded for Best PR Campaign at the Wine Communicator Awards last night.

"Our experiential activation, Celsius, was a massive execution in educating consumers about the importance of serving temperature to experiencing a wine at its best. I commend Brian Olson [pictured below accepting the award] in our PR team along with Klick Communications in bringing this innovative work to life. It’s great to see collectively the exciting campaigns coming through the WCA Awards and to be recognised as best in class is a true honour.”

The winners of the annual Wine Communicator Awards were announced last night’s awards ceremony at the Gourmet Traveller WINE (wine space) in Surry Hills, Sydney.

Max Allen took out the top award for Wine Communicator of the Year. Allen is a wine and drinks columnist for the Australian Financial Review, who WCA notes "is seen as an individual who has always been ahead of his time as a drinks communicator and who has often provided a fresh and fearless take on the Australian wine industry".

“The events that unfolded at last night’s WCA Wine Communicator of the Year Awards ceremony were phenomenal," said WCA Chair Angus Barnes. Fourteen wine industry professionals were among this year’s judging panel including Gill Gordon-Smith, Judy Sarris and Masters of Wine Alison Elserman-Cterteko and Philip Reedman.

Taylors Wines is a member of The Drinks Association. The Drinks Association is a not-for-profit organisation that offers everything from industry data to targeted forums and a broad spectrum of events, publications and websites, including Drinks Trade, Drinks Bulletin and Drinks Guide. It works to build a stronger, more informed Australian drinks industry by providing commonly required services.
